The Lancaster County Medical Alliance was organized on April 24, 1928 originally named the Lancaster County Medical Auxilliary. The name was changed to the Lancaster County Medical Alliance in April, 1993. The purpose of the Alliance is to assist the physician group called the Lancaster County Medical Society (LCMS) in those programs that improve the health and well being of all people, especially in Lancaster County. We support the programs of the Nebraska Medical Alliance (NMA) and the American Medical Association Alliance (AMAA) to promote health education and research, to encourage participation of our members in volunteerism in community health-related activities and to financially support health-related, charitable endeavors through our Foundation (LCMAF).
In the past, membership was entirely female spouses of physicians. Today, our membership is diverse and includes both male and female spouses of physicians, single physicians and some physicians as well, all united in building a healthier community through volunteerism and philanthropy. Please consider becoming a member of the LCMA.
